Hailing from Adelaide, these four best friends would hang out every weekend even if they didn’t play music together. Axe & the Ivory are an emerging indie-folk band releasing their first single ‘Find It’ officially into the world on November 18.

Their synergies emerged when Rosie Roberts (keys, vocals) and long-time best mate Ben Lovell (guitar, vocals) connected through early musical influences including Bonnie Raitt, Third Eye Blind, Paul Kelly, Traveling Wilburys and Paul Simon. They were then joined by Ben’s brother and poet James Lovell on drums and percussion, and the one they call ‘an enigma’ Paul Cooper on banjo and mandolin. With two lead vocalists and James on backing vocals, the bands harmonies are enchanting. Add gorgeous piano, driving drums, intricate guitar/banjo melodies, and we have a band that delivers rich musical layering. The music that influences them now includes The Paper Kites, the Lumineers, Daughter, and Of Monsters and Men.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
